What the site collects
Two things. The contact form collects your name, email address, telephone number, the subject of your enquiry and the county or ZIP code you give us, because the county decides which court a matter is filed in. Separately, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and records pages viewed, approximate location by city, device type and referring site.
Who processes it
- Google Analytics — website measurement. Google is the processor and its own privacy policy governs what it does with the data.
- Our web host and form handler — named in the firm’s engagement documentation, and under a written obligation to secure the information they hold for us.
Enquiry details are not passed to advertising networks, are never placed in a page address or an analytics event, and are not sold.
Cookies
The only cookies this site sets are the Google Analytics ones described above. There is no advertising pixel and no chat widget. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings and the site will work normally without them, which is why there is no banner asking you to click through one.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not become matters are deleted after twelve months. Enquiries that become matters are kept in the client file under the firm’s file-retention policy. Analytics data is retained for fourteen months.
Asking us about your information
Write to the address on the contact page and ask. We will tell you what we hold and delete it where we are not required to keep it.
Whitaker Hollis is a fictional firm and this site is a design study. No analytics property is installed on it and no form submission is stored anywhere.
